Baby Tag

I got this tag off another blog and thought it was super cute!

Baby Tag
1.Where were you when you first found out that you were pregnant? Our apartment
2.Who was with you? Brian
3.How did you find out that you were pregnant? A pregnancy test - the moment I could take one!
4.What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Thrilled, I had wanted a baby for awhile. We hadn’t been trying that long, but I already felt like I had been waiting forever! Brian was excited too, a little more shocked than me, but way excited.
5.Who was the first person you told? Our parents and siblings
6.Did you plan to get pregnant? YES! It only took us 2 months with Kaitlyn, which I learned was quite lucky and pretty fast.
7.Did you tell everyone else right away? Not everyone, but I wasn’t very good at keeping it a secret. We told our close friends pretty fast, and I told everyone at work at about 10 weeks cause I showed pretty early and I heard there were rumors starting to go around the office anyway.
8.Was everybody happy for you? Yes!
9.Did you go out and celebrate? Not right away, but we did find out our good friends Jason & Mindi were preggers too and me and Mindi were due right close to each other, so we did go to Village Inn (heck ya!) and celebrate with them.
10.Did you want to find out the sex? Yes, I ALWAYS will find out the sex. I figure I can be surprised at 20 weeks or at 40. Also, I’m a little OCD about being prepared so I have to have the right clothes and everything ready BEFORE baby gets here!
11.What was the sex? Pink!
12.Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes, both my fam and Brian’s fam, my friends at work (boys and girls…silly), and my friends.
13.Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you wouldn't puton your baby? Yes…yes I did
14.How much weight did you gain? I plead the 5th
15.Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Yeppers
16.Did you get any stretch marks? Yes, but they could’ve been worse I guess.
17.What did you crave the most? Cinnamon toast, and turkey bacon and tomato sandwiches. And I HATED chicken…weird.
18.Did you crave anything crazy? No, Brian says I wanted smoked salmon one night, but really I just wanted regular salmon.
19.Who or what got on your nerves? My clothes!!! I hate being uncomfy and when I started getting a belly and things didn’t fit all I wanted was big huge sweats and Brian’s t-shirts.
20.Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Nothing serious, Kaitlyn was sitting on my sciatic nerve for awhile and I thought I might die, but that was about it.
21.Where and when did you go into labor? In the hospital 9DAYS AFTER MY DUE DATE!
22.Did your water break? Not till the doctor broke it.
23.Who drove you to the hospital? Brian
24.Who was in the room when you gave birth? It was just Brian and I (and the doctor and nurse and stuff). We loved having just US in the room, the doctors did a good job at being quiet and everything so that we felt like our little family was the only people there. It was amazing!
25.Did you go early or late? LATE…9 whole days late
26.How long were you in labor for? 6 ½ hours
27.Did you have any drugs for the pain? Heck yeah! I wasn’t able to get my epidural for about an hour and half after I asked for it. so that hour and a half was hard and very painful, but once I had the epidural it was smooth sailing!
28.Did you go natural or have a C-section? Natural
29.What was your first reaction after giving birth? Joy like I had never felt before. I remember them laying Kaitlyn on my chest and her big dark eyes looking at me and I felt like I knew just who she was and I immediately felt like she was mine.
30.How big was the baby? 6 lbs 2 oz and 19 ½ inches long
31.Did your husband cry? Yes, it was so joyful for him too. Seeing Brian hold Kaitlyn for the first time made me love him more than I thought I could!
32.What did you name the baby? Kaitlyn Sharlene Tenney
33.Does her name have any significant meaning? Her middle name is my mom’s name, Kaitlyn’s Nana.
34.Did you have any visitors? Lots and lots. We had tons and family and a lot of our friends too.
35.Did the baby have any complications? Nothing too serious. After my epidural my blood pressure bottomed and it made Kaitlyn’s heart rate drop but they fixed it quickly and was fine from there on out. After she was born she was so skinny she had a rough time keeping her body temperature up so they had to take her and put her under heating lamps a couple times. She had to wear a beanie constantly.
36.How old is your baby today? 2 years, 2 months, and 1 week
37.When is the next one coming? The middle of May! Yippee!
38.If you could, would you do it all over again? 100% yes! I love being a mom more than anything. I can’t wait to have a house full of kiddos!
39.Tag: any of my friends with cute little bambinos!

Sweet 16

I got to play dress up with Brian's little sister this weekend! Krissy just turned 16 and got to go to her very first school dance. I got to go do her hair and makeup. I had so much fun! Not to toot my own horn or anything ... :) but i think Krissy looked BEAUTIFUL in the end! My in-laws set up a little restaurant for the couples at their house, so they were able to to have a private little feast together and then they were off to the dance! I hope they all had a fab-o time!

One Fun Trip & One Weird Child

We spent the last week down in St. George. Brian had a conference down there and Kaitlyn and I were lucky enough to get to go with him. We stayed with my Aunt Kim and played and played in the warmer-than-salt lake-weather! I did a horrible job of taking pictures but I did get one of me and my cousin’s wife Milea. Since Milea and I are pregnant (Milea is VERY pregnant) we thought we deserved a pedicure! The little Cantonese man that did our toes was HILARIOUS (hence the sideways picture) so the two of us had a great time being pampered a bit.
Brian didn’t have to work the WHOLE time, so he went shooting with my cousin Jeff and we all went to dinner, played games, and just relaxed. It was just what we needed.
Once we got home we headed straight over to Brian’s family to celebrate his sister’s birthday. We were all talking around the table after dinner and Kaitlyn had been off playing with her cousin Ryker. After awhile she moseyed into all of us looking like this… buck naked (her socks were still on) with a potty seat around her neck and one arm. I don’t know where she learns these things!

Just like her mom...

The chocolate gene has definitely been passed on! (and the messy-when-you-eat gene!)
